Indeed Labs Hydraluron facial serum // A review

Hi everyone,

Today’s post, as seen from the title, is a review of Indeed Labs Hydraluron moisture boosting facial serum, a product that I purchased in January after having heard a lot about it on Caroline Hirons’s blog. I haven’t regretted the purchase, so here’s my in-depth view on it.

What it claims to be

Ultimate serum that starts where your moisturiser stops. Proven to boost moisture levels in your skin daily, it contains the purest form of hyaluronic acid – an incredibly hydrating ingredient that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water – as well as red marine algae – which mildly stimulates blood circulation – to provide maximum delivery of moisture beneath the skin’s surface.

What it is

Hydraluron is wonderful anti-dehydration gel serum that replenishes and rehydrates your skin in seconds and really makes a difference if you suffer from dehydrated skin (but hyaluronic acid is suitable to all, pretty much everyone needs it).

What it claims to do
  • Replenishes skin’s natural short and long term moisture balance
  • Protects your skin from diminished cell turnover by reducing dehydration, which causes premature aging
  • An increased boost of hyaluronic acid beneath the skin’s surface, leaving skin with a dewy glow
  • Gives skin a softer, smoother and silkier texture.
What Hydraluron it has inside

You can have a look at the list of ingredients below. The key ingredient is sodium hyaluronate, a salt derived from hyaluronic acid, but whose molecules are much smaller. A few words on hyaluronic acid.

What hyaluronic acid does

This acid is naturally present in our skin, joints and hair along with collagen and elastin. It bonds with molecules of water and retains moisture in order to keep our tissues hydrated, plumped and firm. Our ability to produce this acid diminishes as we get older (and with sun damage) and leads to the first wrinkles, lines, dry skin.

Being a humectant, hyaluronic acid draws water into your skin and helps prevent moisture loss. Therefore, when you apply hyaluronic acid on your face the outer layer of your skin is stronger, as it creates a healthy barrier that protects it from things like bacteria and free-radicals. And whatever you put on afterwards will be better retained from your skin. That’s why Caroline Hirons suggests using a water-based moisturizer: its moisture will stay on your skin longer thanks to hyaluronic acid’s ability to bond with it.

Finally let me just make this clear: hyaluronic acid doesn’t eliminate wrinkles, it just lies on the upper level creating a barrier and making it look suppler and smoother.

How I use it

I use this either in the morning or at night, but mostly mornings, after the toning step and before any moisturizer. It’s a serum and therefore goes down into your skin but doesn’t protect it from the outside, hence why you have to follow up with your daily cream to seal it.

It has a sticky, gel-like texture that might scares you a bit at the beginning. Don’t let it stop you from using this product: once you apply your layer of cream on top, you’ll be fine. It absorbs in a few seconds. Follow with an Spf if possible, it goes without saying that you should protect your skin from the sun each and every day.

Price: £ 24.99 for 30 ml (often on offer) Available at Boots

Overall Judgement: 4/5

Hydraluron is a very good product with a good price, perfect for almost any kind of skin. I will be repurchasing.

  • It’s a while since I used this but I do remember liking it, but I didn’t rate the jelly/moisturiser from this range! xx

I love anything with hyaluronic acid! I’m not familiar with this serum but thanks to your review, I’ve now added it to my list. It does sound like something I would like! Great review as always!

    • Hi Cat, yes this one is great, though it’s probably easier to find in the Uk (maybe I’m wrong, not sure). It’s affordable and it’s also one of the few products in the market with the highest percentage of hyaluronic acid 😉 xx

Hi Silvia, I’m new to your blog after seeing you on instagram! Really enjoying reading through your posts :). Have you tried the Hydraluron sheet mask? I wasn’t so keen on the tube of serum (I think due to the texture) but weirdly I really enjoy the mask, even though it contains the same thing!
Its fantastic after using acids/exfoliation and really soothes the skin. I love rubbing all the excess serum leftover into my skin, as you say it plumps and hydrates 🙂 xx

    • Hi Rachael, it’s a pleasure to see you here on the blog 🙂 I had wanted to try the mask for a long time, but I am not a fan of sheet mask so that’s why I haven’t tried it yet. I don’t like the fact that you can only use a mask once, and then you have to throw it away of course. You know they also have a moisturizer which I think is very good, though I haven’t tried it personally. I will wait for a Boot’s 2for3! 🙂 🙂 Thanks a lot for reading, I really appreciate that. xx Silvia
