My May Beauty Favourites, products I've loved this month.

May Beauty Favourites

Hi everyone,

Here I come with my May beauty favourites post, my first one since I opened the blog. I hope you’ve had a great month and that all is well! I’m currently doing an internship at a company, as part of my degree, so my days all feel pretty much the same. Spending hours in front of the computer gives me headache and make me feel tired. I feel like I’m constantly sleepy and at the same time I feel guilty, because I’m not even studying for my exams (but I’ll go back to university in October), which is usually a lot more stressful.

I’m also getting ready to take an English exam at the end of June, so my nights at home are equally divided into reading blogs/exercising/studying English. I hate to admit it but this month has not been that different from the last one or the one before that! However, one highlight was running a 5km race in my hometown. Also, my boyfriend visited me at the beginning of May, every moment with him is a highlight.

Blogging is also giving me great satisfaction and I’m extremely proud of what I’ve done so far. I’ve only been blogging for a month! I thank you with all my heart for taking the time to read my posts.

Without further ado, these are the products that I’ve used the most in May:

A lovely scented body lotion. I love that it is a “green” product with lots of good ingredients. Unlike most other body lotions this one doesn’t have any parabens or silicones. The scent is difficult to describe, I’d say it is a light scent that is hard not to like, though it goes away quickly, once the cream is absorbed by the skin. Perfect for summer, the only downside is that it’s not the cheapest, €13/£10 for 200 ml. I also love the Vanilla/Cinnamon one from Korres.

I’ve only used this for a month but still I haven’t decided yet if this is a love or hate relationship. It’s an expensive foundation (£ 31/ 41€), with a sheer finish, not very good if you tend to have oily skin. Good coverage, though I only use a very small amount of it. My only doubt is that I don’t find it long-lasting, but in all other ways it’s great. I will write a full review on it later.

I took advantage of a 20% Easter discount to place my first order from BravuraLondon. I’d like to tell you more about its founder, Amanda, but that will probably come in a future post/review on it. So far I’m very pleased with the results I’ve been getting. I’ve used it in different ways, leaving it on my skin for different amounts of time, increasing each time. It leaves the skin very soft and exfoliates your outer layer of skin. I still can’t say if it has helped me with my scars, I definitely need to give it some more time, but so far so good. By the way, this brand has many products I’d like to try, I recommend you check them out! It’s also very affordable, £ 9,60 for 30ml.

A wonderful butter that immediately turns into an oil. Slightly fragranced, I love it. There isn’t much to say about it, I’ve no complaints except for the packaging, which would be handier if it was made of plastic instead of metal. I’ve only used it to take-off my makeup (‘first cleanse’), removing it with a flannel. Great price (£ 13 for 100 ml )and I’d say it’s a must try!

Have you tried any of these products? If yes, let me know.

I’m going to the UK this week and I’m planning to do some skincare shopping, if you have any suggestions please write them in the comments section. I’d love to hear from you!

Have a lovely day!

I’ve tried the cleansing butter and really like it, especially during the winter months when my skin needs that extra bit of love. The glycolic acid sounds really good, I’m currently using the exfoliating toner from Clarins but it’s a bit too gentle, I feel like I need to step up my exfoliating game. Any recommendations for that?

    • Hi Kelly, I’ve never tried the Clarins toner, but I know Caroline Hirons loves it. If you think that is too gentle for you, you could definitely give Bravura a try. It’s very affordable and the shipping costs are not too high. Have you tried the Pixi Glow Tonic? Is the first one I’ve used and I loved it….Bravura also makes a dupe of it so that could be another good option! These are my suggestions! There are also the Dennis Gross pads which I’ve never tried but I know they are very very good, but super expensive! Let me know what you think xx

  • I must get round to buying that glycolic acid from Bravura, I’ve seen it on other blogs and everyone loves it! I’ve used the Camomile Cleansing Oil which comes in a pump so is a bit more handy but probably not as luxurious as the balm. Sounds like you have a lovely month coming up!

    • Hi Rebecca!
Thanks a lot for stopping by, I’ve actually just left a comment on your Empties saying that I would like to try the Oil but I can’t carry it with me on the plane when I travel from the Uk back home. Absolutely give Bravura a chance…they also have an acid toner very similar the the Pixi Glow Tonic, which I’m sure you’ve heard of. And all their products are affordable…if you want to start incorporating acids in your routine, they have great options! Have a good day my dear! xx

      • I love my Pixi Glow Tonic but I’m always open to trying other stuff out – and yes I’ve noticed how affordable Bravura is – I think I’m off to make an order now! Have a lovely day too! 🙂

  • Love Nars sheer glow! I still need to try the camomile cleansing butter 🙂 xx

    • Hi Charlotte, sorry for the late reply! Thanks for your comment, the Camomile Butter is truly a great make-up remover 😉 Have a good day xx

  • I have the same feelings about Sheer Glow. Some days when I use it, I love it, some days I hate it haha 😉 I think it depends on how my skin is “feeling” on a given day haha 😉

    Thirteen Thoughts

    • Hi Paula, thanks a lot for stopping by. I’m honestly glad that we have the same feeling towards the Nars Sheer Glow, I’ll definitely give it more time to see if it’s love or not 🙂 Wish you a lovely day!

  • I’ve heard so many positive things about the Bravura oils – I definitely need to place an order with them. I actually hated Nars Sheer Glow when I first got it but for the past year it’s been my favourite! The Body Shop cleansing butter is one of my favourites and I tried a mini of one of the Korres body lotions last year and forgot how much I liked it – will have to get a full sized one once I use a few up 🙂 great favourites!

    • Thanks a lot for stopping by Jasmine! You should try something from Bravura, give them a chance. You also get a 10% off with your first order, if I remember well. Have a great start of the week! xx

  • Sounds like you’ve had such a busy but productive month! Shame you don’t like Sheer Glow that much as I love it, and I find it stays on my skin for hours! I’ve just started using Korres and I love them, going to have to try this body lotion.

    • Hi Sally! Thanks for stopping by, I love your blog 🙂 🙂 I will give Sheer Glow a second chance, also because I don’t want to splurge on a new foundation again. If you have the chance, try any of their body lotions because they are really good, not too expensive and with lovely scents. I’d love to try some of their skincare products too. Have a good night xx Silvia
