My Oskia haul and first impressions

My Oskia haul and first impressions

Hello October, my favourite month! My mum, my boyfriend and I were born in October so I love it more than any other. It also coincides with the start of the academic year, meaning it is also a period of great excitement, new beginnings and long lists of resolutions (which I always break!).

To celebrate my birthday this year I’ve decided to splurge a little bit of my hard earned money on some skincare products I wouldn’t have normally bought. What better opportunity to spoil yourself!?

I had wanted to try the Oskia Renaissance Mask for a long time. I’m a huge fan of their cleanser, which also happened to be the first product I reviewed on my blog(here), and I had been dreaming of trying more products from this amazing British brand, founded by Georgie Cleeve.

Of course their products aren’t cheap, which is why I waited for the right occasion. And – lo and behold –along came Cult Beauty with an Oskia offer not to be missed. Basically they were giving you a full size of the Micro Exfoliating Balm for free with any purchase on Oskia products over £45. Luckily, the Renaissance Mask was available for £49.50, so I managed to kill two birds with one stone!

Here are my first impressions, I’ll write some more detailed reviews once I’ve used them more extensively.

My Oskia haul and first impressions

Both the Renaissance Mask and the Micro Exfoliating Balm come in glass jars of the same size (50ml), with a spatula and a protective cap. They feel great in my hands and they look good in my cabinet. The Renaissance Mask aims to give the skin that glow and radiance that we are all after. It does so thanks to presence of different natural acids, derived from fruits, along with lactic acid, an acid very similar to glycolic, but more gentle.

It feels very luxurious when you apply it: the pink jelly-like product turns white once you massage it onto your skin. I left it on for over twenty minutes. I removed it with a flannel and my skin was brighter, clean, smooth. I didn’t notice any irritation and my skin felt calm and soothed. I have to say: believe the hype! I will report back on this at a later date, but I’m confident about what is in store.

My Oskia haul and first impressions

The Micro Exfoliating Balm is an extremely gentle physical exfoliator. I say “gentle” because after using it my skin wasn’t red at all, despite being the kind of skin which gets angry whenever I use scrubs on it. The grains in it are almost invisible and you need to emulsify it with a little bit of water and then rub it onto your skin for some time. It didn’t hurt me and it didn’t leave any kind of rash, as I’ve said. I haven’t used a physical exfoliator in a long time, concentrating mainly on chemical ones. Nevertheless, using a physical one again was fantastic and left my skin feeling great. I wouldn’t have bought this product, but after reading my friend Sarirah’s review of it, I couldn’t miss the offer. I’m glad I’ve tried it.

Have you tried any of these? Or would you like to? Have you spoiled yourself in some way lately? Let me know in the comments.

Have a great start to the week!

I felt so lucky to get to try these two for the price of one 🙂 Much love to you (I hope you’re feeling better…) xx

      • Thank you for letting me know! I’ve just splurge on the new Hourglass palette so the mask might need to wait a little bit 😉 x

  • Can’t wait to hear more about that mask Silvia! I am really curious and trying to debate whether or not I should get it next hahahaha. Enjoy your haul lovely!

    • Hi my dear Fiona, I have only used it twice so I’ll need more time to tell you if it’s 100% worth it. This week I’ll try the Glycolactic mask from Ren which you gave me a sample (huge sample!) of, and I’ll see how they compare.
      Much love to you, xx
