Products I’ve used up #1

It’s such a great feeling to be writing this post. I love posts about empties! I love getting to know what people have been using until the last drop, what their thoughts are and whether they would recommend/repurchase that item or not. I think that once you have run out of something you can really have a clear view on it and say if it has worked or not for you.

So… onto my empties! These are the ones I accumulated in February. There will be another post later in the coming weeks on my March/April ones, just to divide things up.

  1. First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads

I picked these up on Black Friday last November on beautybay for a reasonable price. The pads are very handy and easy to use: a quick swipe on my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin. I usually go over the same area twice, as my skin is sensitive, but I don’t overdo it, so as not to cause a reaction with the acid. This one in particular is glycolic along with lactic (both go under the category of AHA acids). According to the manufacturer, the acid “Improves skin clarity. Reduces visible pores. Diminishes the appearance of fine lines”. Did I see any visible result? Honestly, not really. I wish I could say yes, but I noticed more improvements with the Pixi Glow Tonic actually. I wouldn’t repurchase it in the short-term but there are many products from the brand I’d like to try. If you are starting with acid toning then these could be a good start, if you are already used to it these might be too gentle for you.

Price for 60 pads:  26,7 € (0,45 each) / £ 20.85 on beautybay.

  1. Ren Rosa Centifolia Gel Cleanser

I bought this because I was looking for a cheap cleanser, I trusted some reviews on lookfantastic but I realized that gel cleansers are not for me. They all tend to dry my skin out, even though this one doesn’t foam up like crazy, it still did. I used it every day and got that tight sensation, which I don’t particularly want, thanks. I’ll stay away from gel cleansers for a while. Wouldn’t repurchase.

Price for 145 ml : 18,45 € / £ 14 on lookfantastic .

  1. Caudalie Moisturizing Sorbet

Lovely moisturizer, will repurchase. Won’t go into details because I have already talked about it here.

Price for 30 ml:  23,5 € / £ 23 from their website.

  1. Narciso Rodriguez For Her

Probably my favourite ever fragrance… I loved it so much!

“A rare musk enhanced by a pure synthesis of delicate floral osmanthus notes, soft amber and hints of patchouli. “

I can’t describe a scent, so I’d suggest you to try it yourself once you get the chance. Not the kind of fragrance that everyone likes, not really a summer scent but very feminine and with “character” if I can say so. Will repurchase it in the future.

Price for 30 ml: 52, 9 € / £ 35 (see here)

  1. Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate

See full and detailed review here.

Price for 30 ml: 42 € / £ 37 from their website.

That’s all for now!

Have you tried any of these products? Would love to know.

  • I love empties posts! I love that Kiehls oil & need to repurchase at some point. I kinda felt the same about the FAB pads & just stick to Glow Tonic these days! xx

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the Fab pads are too gentle 🙂
Kiehl’s midnight recovery concentrate is good and leaves a wonderful skin but, for me, the price ( £ 37) is too much considered what it does. I think for the same price you can find better serums/oils.
      Have a lovely day xx

  • I agree, I find the Pixi Glow Tonic more effective but the mini version of the FAB pads are so handy for travelling 🙂 Love the sound of the Caudalie Moisturiser too xx

    Jasmine Talks Beauty

    • Hi Jasmine
thanks for the comment 🙂 , I think pads are very handy in general. At the moment I’m using the Nip and Fab Glycolic extreme pads and they seem to me more effective than the FAb ones. They are worth a try xx

  • Yiotou_La

Empties posts are my favourite, I love reading what other’s are using 🙂 Kiehl’s Midnight Concentrate is something I keep reading about and I have it for so long in my wishlist, too bad it’s so expensive for my pocket.

    • Hi Yiota, thanks for stopping by! I’d say you shouldn’t worry if you can’t afford Kiehl’s oil, as I wrote in my review, it’s not worth that money…you can definitely get much better for less 🙂 xx

  • Cat L

Love reading empties posts for the same reason you mention, plus I’m just a little nosy. 🙂 I’ve tried most of the products you mention, with the exception of the fragrance. Given it’s your favorite, I now have to give it a whiff. I agree about the Pixi Glow Tonic. They are pretty effective and at a good price point. Great post as always!

    • Next time you go to Sephora, you have to get a whiff of it! And let me know if you like it, it’s a very femenine fragrance and not one that everyone likes…but I do 🙂 Thanks for the comment xx
