Products I’ve used up #2

Hi everyone, it’s time for a new “Products I’ve used up” kind of post. You may have already seen these products mentioned previously on my blog, but this is a chance to sum up all my thoughts on them.

A great great great daily moisturizer which I’ve already reviewed here. It’s light and won’t make you feel greasy. Recommended to anyone except for those with oily skin.

Would I repurchase? I’m already on my second jar!

Another good daily moisturizer, lighter than the Kiehl’s one, it’s perfect for summer when I personally want something that is absorbed fast and that doesn’t leave any residue. Shame it’s finished.

Would I repurchase? Not in the near future, as I’ve set my eyes on another La Roche Posay moisturizer, the Hydraphase Legere.

One of the most effective and affordable face mists. The pump is very practical and the product is extremely effective in hydrating the skin (you will need a moisturizer on top) and it’s only made out of grape water. If you have normal to dry skin, this could be your new best friend.

Would I repurchase? Absolutely!

After Caroline Hirons recommended this among her favourite cleansers, so I had to try it. I really fell in love with this one. It’s a lovely hot cloth cleanser (see here for more information) which you apply, massage and remove with a warm damp flannel. My skin feels clean afterwards, not tight or dry. Oh and it’s only £10 which means it is one of the cheapest cleansers of this kind on the market. In a nutshell: it does its job very well.

Would I repurchase? Not in the immediate future, just because I like trying new things, you know.

This cleanser needs no introduction. It works nicely and has a lovely texture, denser than The Ultimelt and with a stronger scent. It leaves the skin clean and not dry, and because of the thicker texture it must be used with a flannel, but that’s the whole purpose of it! As I wrote in an earlier post it does cause a slight burning sensation, I think because of the essential oils in it, though I would recommend it anyway if you don’t have very sensitive skin.

Would I repurchase? I think so, yes, in the future. It’s a nice cleanser just to keep all year round in my cabinet.

The perfect SPF, do I need to say more? If you haven’t tried this yet, well you’re missing out. Affordable, not heavy and doesn’t leave any white marks. I’m a big fan.

Would I repurchase? Yes, I would.

Oh dear, this mask is heaven and I’ve already explained why in this post. What else can I say? I loved it, it made my skin soft and feel nourished, and it helped a lot with the redness on my cheeks (due to old acne scars). It has some very good ingredients and it’s supposed to help with blemishes too, thanks to Manuka honey which is an antibacterial ingredient used in New Zealand. Again, I’m a fan. I will certainly be trying other products from Antipodes.

Would I repurchase? Totally, but looking to try a few other things first.

For those of you who have a Sephora in your country, you have to try this! It’s a nourishing body butter, maybe not the best option for summer but for all the other months it works a treat. It takes a little while to sink into the skin but it leaves it intensely hydrated and soft. It’s important to mention that it doesn’t have mineral oil — which only gives you the “feeling” of soft and smooth skin — this one does it for real.

Would I repurchase? Yes, in autumn. I’ve already been through a half kilo jar of this (500 g – yes!) and their mini travel version too.

Have you tried any of these products? I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

Love

xx

Silvia

  • I’ve used the Ultimelt cleanser a long time ago and I’ve also tried LRP Anthelios and I loved them both too! I’d love to give Kiehls skincare a go and also the Manuka Honey mask from Antipodes, I hear a lot of rave reviews on that!

    • Hi Rebecca, if you’re looking for a mask for dry skin, then look no further…Aura is great. Kiehl’s has some very good products but I find them a bit over priced sometimes. I need to write my Summer Tag post 🙂

  • I agree about the Antipodes mask – it is so lush. I used to use Ultimelt but back then I didn’t like double cleansing and it was never very effective on my eye makeup so I wasn’t a huge fan. I should try it again as a second cleanser now that I’m addicted to double/triple cleansing LOL! xxx

    • I’m glad I’m not the only one who loved it. I have always used the Ultimelt as a second cleanse (I should have written it, sorry) so i can’t say much on how good it is at removing make-up, I use either micellar water, an oil or a balm for that. Double cleansing is the only way 🙂 do it and you won’t look back xx

  • Ms Tantrum

I love Caudalie grape water spray. The LA Roche Posay moisturiser and Sunscreen sound good. I see this Antipodes manuka honey mask quite a lot on instagram. It’s been on wishlist for so long. Great post.

    • Hi Ash, I’m happy to see you here. I have loved that mask a lot and i wouldn’t say this if I wasn’t 100% sure of how amazing it worked on my skin. Obviously each one is different, but on me it made a massive difference when I used it. The Causalie Grape Water is great, yes. I need to buy a new one. At the moment I’m using Serozinc but I find it a bit drying for my skin. xx

  • NeonChipmunk

Oh I love that Sephora body butter! I received a sample packet of it and I couldn’t believe how amazing it smelled, plus the formula was just delightful. It’s definitely on top of my wish list.

    • I love it too, so much that I got the big size, which I’ve finished now. I will be getting a new one later in autumn, as I find that in summer my skin wants something that absorbs very fast. I whish you a lovely day xx

  • Sheridan Grady

I have just heard too much about the Cleanse and Polish! I can’t believe I haven’t tried it yet! x

    • I’m glad you like it. Next time you can give The Ultimelt a try, as well. Thanks for stopping by Rebecca! xx

  • I’m not crazy about Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish but I know I’m in the minority. I have that Antipodes mask on my wishlist and I love the sound of the Caudalie grape water. I had a sample of Sephora body butter a while back & LOVED it! xx

    • Thank you Siobhan, I hope you’ll give the Aura mask a try because I love it so much and it was brilliant for my skin. The Caudalie Grape water is very good, as well. Have a lovely day! xx

  • Love that Grape Water! Makes my currently dry skin feel so much better in an instant!

    Thirteen Thoughts

    • Paula, it’s a great face spray but…you are responsible for me wanting to try the Mario Badescu Face Spray sooo bad, I’m just waiting for the right moment to buy it. Currently using Serozinc xx

  • I was scrolling down this post and nodding along to all of these! I’m a huge fan of Cleanse & Polish (I kind of prefer the cream texture over an oil in the summer), I love the Antipodes Manuka Honey mask and the Caudalie Grape Water. The La Roche-Posay is definitely my favourite facial SPF. Great round-up 🙂

    • Thank you Jasmine, sometimes when I run out of products I love I feel sad 🙁 Btw it was lovely to hear your voice for the first time on Insta Stories xx

  • I love the S&G masks, I have the one for pores and it is amazing. I have nearly used up my La Roche-Posay Effaclar moisturiser and it is lovely, will definitely be buying it again. One brand to try that I am obsessed with is TempleSpa!

  • Great round up! A lot of these are actually products I’ve had my eyes on for awhile now, especially the Antipodes Mask and the La Roche-Posay moisturizer. Think I’m ready to bite the bullet!
